The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency has nine active air monitors in the Metro East to make sure this area is following and meeting the federal standards that are designed to protect public health. These monitors measure: Ozone, P.M2.5, P.M10, Sulfur Dioxide, Nitrogen Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide, and Lead.
